& Nelson : Jewellery Alexander Johnson exhibits
a new series of hand-made limited edition screenprints
based on his life in Barcelona in 1989 and 1990. The prints
include texts, vibrant colour
and iconographic images of Barcelona taken from sketchbooks
and diaries from the time
and designed to invoke the atmosphere of the city prior to
the 1992 Olympics.
At the core of the work is a dialogue between what was experienced
and
what is understood in retrospect.

The collaboration of American born glass artist Joe Campoli
and
British silversmith/designer Philip Nelson, both now Sussex
based,
has resulted in a unique range of personal and individual
modernist jewellery.
Philip hand-makes solid silver jewellery occasionally punctuated
with
gold or ebony, complementing Joe’s methods of fusing
coloured glass with unusual materials.
