What is
Hove Arts? |
Hove Arts is a group of artists formed seven years
ago to participate in the Brighton and Hove Festival Umbrella
programme. We came together to link our venues - open houses,
studios and workshops - to form an arts group. The idea was
to recognise and develop the art activities in Hove, which are
ever expanding each year.
Since that time we have considerably grown. The venues change
each year with some houses and studios being open year after
year. This year have 16 venues on board showing the work of
over 100 individual artists. Our work includes painting, sculpture,
jewellery, ceramics, original prints, mixed media, photography,
works in metal, plastics, glass and textiles, and much more.
Some of the Brighton Festival events have led to major commissions,
museum, corporate, international and national exhibitions, as
well as local publicity for the artists involved. Our thanks
goes out to our loyal sponsors who have really helped this happen.
Our future plans are to operate more within the Artists Open
Houses Group and also involve ourselves in other annual events.
We hope you will support the growth and profile of the artists
in our community by visiting the open houses and thereby help
to develop Hove as a centre for art and culture. |

takes you to a diferent part of Hove Arts.

from which you can find out more about the exhibiting artists.

when we are open (this information is on every individual
venue page anyway!)
Artists
shows a selection of the Hove Arts artists this year and
tells you more about them and shows more of their work.
Category links
to the various media used by the artists and shows a small
selection of the artists using that media. (These categories
are replicated at the bottom of every page using the rectangular
buttons).
Sponsors
lets you know who is kindly sponsoring Hove Arts this year.
Sponsorship money helps pay for some of our publicity.
Many of our pages will take you out to artist's own websites,
so please do come back to us(!) by clicking the back button
of your browser or, if that doesn't work, by closing the artist's
website page.
